APPLICATION FOR
FIRE GLAZE MICRO FINISHING COMPOUND
For oxidized vehicles we recommend using our Fire Glaze Micro Finishing Compound first to rid the broken down paint, contaminants, surface scratches etc. It is actually a great 1st step preparation cleaner for any surface before Fire Glaze Polish Sealant application. Compound can be used with a buffer as well, starting at 300rpm –1500rpm. However, these instructions are for hand application.
First, you must wash the vehicle with soap (detergent) and water, and then dry the vehicle thoroughly. Shake Micro Finishing Compound well. Use small amounts at a time. Apply directly to cool clean surface. Use a cotton terry cloth or micro fiber towel depending on vehicle and severity of oxidation.
Briskly rub compound in a circular motion until compound disappears and a high gloss appears. Apply enough pressure to remove blemishes and oxidation. Wipe off any residue with a clean cloth. You will see the broken down paint color on your applicator as it is being removed and the vehicle surface becoming shiny. Turn applicator frequently and try not to rub contaminants back on to the paint. Depending on the severity of oxidation and surface, it will determine how much rubbing is needed.
With surface scratches, water spots, road tar etc, sometimes you will need to just keep rubbing for a minute or two (a buffer can be used with compound or polish). Really depends on how much elbow grease you want to put into it and the result you want. If an imperfection cannot be removed after a couple minutes of rubbing, then imperfection might be too deep for this micro finishing compound. It might require wet sanding or other means preparation.
Tip: The use of Fire Glaze Micro Finishing Compound is a good indication to whether or not you need to seek other means or methods of removing an imperfection. Contacting a Professional may be a good idea at this point to determine the next best step.
Once compound application is completed, apply Fire Glaze Plus Professional Polish Sealant for the ultimate finish and protection.
Compound is also great for removing hard water spots on glass also. Once water spots are removed, use Fire Glaze Rapid Action Spray Polish for a crystal clear, no streak shine. Maintain with Rapid Action to prevent hard water spots from forming again.
